Charity is the selfless act of giving time, resources, or love to help others in need.
Over 2.2 billion people lack access to safe drinking water around the world. Drinking contaminated water leaves people vulnerable to waterborne diseases like cholera, diarrhoea, typhoid, polio and more. Providing access to clean water can prevent the spread of water-related diseases amid the water crisis, and that’s exactly what we aim to do. we provide vulnerable communities with access to clean drinking water sources, reducing the risk of illness and keeping them protected. Thanks to your water well donations, we have reached thousands of people over the years, and we’re not stopping now.
According to UNICEF, “4 billion people experience severe water scarcity for at least one month each year”. That’s almost half of the entire population without access to safe water and sanitation. Water is a fundamental human right, and our water systems promote hygiene practices and improve health, whether that’s water wells, water pumps or water tanks.
Whether you would like to make a water well donation in Africa, Asia or the Middle East, it couldn’t be easier. Donate to our water fund and build a community water well in Ghana, Pakistan, Palestine (Gaza), Somalia, Yemen, Afghanistan, Chad, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Sudan, Benin, Tanzania, Guinea or Bangladesh (for Rohingya refugees).
Wells can contain a plaque with the name of the donor. You have the option of donating a well as Sadaqah Jariyah on behalf of yourself, someone else who is alive or the deceased, giving them the chance to earn ongoing rewards. When selecting the well location, add any name you wish to be shown on the water well plaque/sign.
As narrated in the well-known hadith, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said the best form of charity is giving water to drink. Donate a deep water well today, on behalf of yourself or a gift for someone else.
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) explicitly stated that "The best charity is providing water" and promised that whoever digs a well will receive rewards from Allah whenever any human, jinn, or bird drinks from it.
Charity is the selfless act of giving time, resources, or love to help others in need.
